As a healthcare practice, we recognise that providing orthodontic care has an environmental impact. We're committed to reducing that impact and supporting the NHS ambition to reach Net Zero.

♻️ Less waste, more recycling
We've introduced separate recycling streams for cardboard and paper, glass, cans and plastics, and food waste, helping to reduce the amount of waste we send to landfill.
Our journey to Net Zero
We have developed a Carbon Reduction Plan to measure our environmental impact, set reduction targets and monitor our progress.
Our commitment is to achieve Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 at the latest.
Our 2024 baseline was approximately 31.5 tCO₂e, and our 2025 emissions were approximately 26.6 tCO₂e, representing an estimated 15.5% reduction from our baseline.
We have set further reduction targets for 2030 and 2035 and will continue to review our progress and identify opportunities to reduce our environmental impact.
Embracing digital dentistry
We use intraoral scanning for the majority of our orthodontic appliances where clinically appropriate. This reduces our reliance on traditional physical impressions and helps reduce associated materials, packaging and transportation.
Less paper
Wherever possible, we use digital communication rather than printing letters, receipts and other documents. This helps reduce paper use and unnecessary waste.
Reducing unnecessary deliveries
We try to consolidate orders from our suppliers and laboratory collections wherever practical, reducing the number of individual deliveries and journeys to the practice.
Using energy responsibly
We monitor our electricity use and switch off lights, heating and air-conditioning in rooms when they aren't in use. We're continuing to look for ways to improve our energy efficiency.
Thinking about travel
We try to minimise unnecessary travel where possible. For example, clinicians travel together when undertaking our care-home visits, and we encourage lower-carbon travel options where practical.
